New Home Sweet

So we have been working on my house (by we I mean me, my dad, my sister, her boyfriend, the gentleman, and what seems like an army of workers) since before I actually bought it. No seriously, the bank wouldn't let me close on the house while it's floors were in the state they were in, so I had them refinished. In a week, no less.

It is getting to be almost a year since we bought the house, and I'm just now tackling the upstairs bathroom, but here's a short list of what we have done so far: put in a kitchen, put in a laundry room, finished or put in flooring in all of the house, took out a wall, put in door-nobs in all the doors, put in a ton of new electrical, fixed plumbing, installed new sinks and toilets.......and right now I'm seriously wondering why I bought this house.

Anyway, we're just about done with the big projects, and most of the small projects I will just continue doing one at a time on my own.
But without further ado, let me welcome to my new house (old and new).
Please come inside.

So before, all the original floors were chewed up, there wasn't great electrical, and a few of the plumbing pipes were cracked.
Not to mention that there was a homeless guy living in the closet for a few months.

Everything was a wreck.
Not to mention that there were no appliances, and all of the cupboards in the kitchen had years worth of grease and mold on them.

Somehow that did not deter us. And two weeks later.....I was in Hawaii.
But shortly after that it was back to the grind.

Yeah, mixing cement is not that easy, or neat.
McDonalds should have sponsored us for all the coffee we got from them alone.
 Progress.
 Seriously, so much coffee.

Anyway, right now I think it was worth it (even while I only have one bathroom, and a hole in my roof).

My lovely sis and her puppy trying out the carpet.

 We made it through Christmas.
The kitchen we worked so hard for.

Those radiators and the pocket doors sold it.

I mean can you really beat this?

There will be updates, we're not done yet,

I will take pics of the bathroom when there isn't so much insulation floating around inside. Until then :), happy Saturday!
