Mother's Day in Annapolis

So my mom came out to visit us a couple weeks ago, and since Mother's Day was coming up, we thought we'd take advantage of this opportunity to get some mommy time in.

We had just gotten back from our whirlwind stay-cation in D.C., and figured a little relaxation was in order. And by that I mean a big mug of tea and sweets.
My favorite tea place is in Annapolis. Reynolds Tavern. It's traditional without being too stuffy (I mean, we're a loud bunch, and I don't think we pissed anyone off too much).
Most of us ordered the afternoon tea.

 After much deliberation that is.

And some web-surfing (can't help ourselves).
And the sister's guy decided to be the odd man out with his fish and chips.
We didn't complain too much, as he let us snatch a few from his plate.

The rest of us had sandwiches, treats, and scones with entirely too much cream on them.

That is only less the cream that I took for my one scone.
 Yep.

Though honestly (and she will probably not like the pic) I got that portion control from my mother.
After we had stuffed ourselves, we sat and drank copious amount more of tea, lazed around, and chatted. Catching up.
 Playing around.
And smiling. Feeling 100% pleased with ourselves.

We walked around a bit afterwards trying to get at least some of the sugar out of our system before the long drive back home, but all in all a most successful day.
